Rich's PC800 "Modifications & Equipment" Page

Here are the modifications that I have made to my PC.

I have also included links to lead you to the vendors who sell these products.

  1. Clearview +5 Shield. Available from Sport Touring Accessories.

  2. Halogen 80/100 Headlamp. Available from many good auto parts stores, or from Sport Touring Accessories.

  3. Vista Cruise Throttle Lock. Available from most motorcycle shops.

  4. Dual 55 watt driving lights by The Electrical Connection. Available from Sport Touring Accessories. Visit the manufacturer's website at the Electrical Connection.

A note of caution. These lights will have the tendency to overwhelm the PC's charging system. I strongly recommend some sort of device also be installed to monitor the "health" of your charging system while using these. See the Battery Monitor below. I have removed the 55 watt bulbs and installed 35 watt bulbs. The 35 watt bulbs DO NOT overwhelm the charging system, and the light output is still good. For a picture of the driving light kit, click HERE.

  5. Air Horns. Available from many good auto parts stores. (Compressor and Relay under seat, trumpets concealed by front crash bar covers. Used existing switch to power the relay.) For installation info, look below for the link for me "Air Horn Installation" page.

  6. 6 circuit fuse block. Available from many good auto parts stores. (mounted under seat.)

  7. Cigarette lighter. Available from any good auto parts store. Mounted in trunk to charge cell phone and scanner. I also use it to backfeed a charge from my Battery Tender to the battery.

  8. Battery Monitor single LED light. Installed immediately to the left of the choke lever. Available from Sport Touring Accessories.

  9. K&N Air filter, part # HA-8089. Available from most motorcycle shops or from K&N Filters.

  10. Hondaline Trunk light kit, part # 08162-MR500. Well worth the $30.00 price (and the 90 minute installation). Available from any Honda dealer by special order.

  11. Trunk mats. This is an item that I designed myself, modeled after an early PC accessory that was offered by Honda. They don't offer them any longer, so now I do. Email me if you are interested (see link below...).

  12. Metzeler ME880 tires (or tyres, depends where you are from...). Last tire change, I decided to try to Metzelers. How do I like them? They make the bike feel more responsive, like it weighs 100 pounds less. The front tire now does *not* follow grooves and cracks in the roadway, and tracks straight over metal grate bridge decking. So far, I am pleased with my decision to go with the Metzelers.

  13. Kisan Path Blazer and Tail Blazer. These are more commonly known as a head light modulator (Path Blazer) and a tail light modulator (Tail Blazer). Both units are direct in-line "plug in" units and can be installed in minutes (*not* hours...). Kisan has very good customer service (as opposed to their competition, which is Kriss). Available from Kisan.

  14. Kriss 4-way flashers. Speaking of Kriss, they have *one* product that I had to have. However, after receiving a healthy dose of their legendary *poor* customer service, I was ready to go without their 4 way flasher kit. However, a lister offered me a working unit that was used, so I ended up with one anyway. Don't look for a link to Kriss for more info, it's not worth my time to post one here. You'll just have to look it up yourself.

  15. Waterproof 12 volt outlet. This one I mounted (recessed) into the left hand fairing pocket, next to the switch for the 4-way flashers. This is a nifty unit from the folks at The Electrical Connection. Available from the Electrical Connection.

  16. Sunline Grand Touring Grips These sound really impressive, and I do like them. They are rounded (i.e. fatter in the center) and are Gel rubber (as opposed to foam). They do a good job of isolating vibration from your hands. They are available from Dennis Kirk.

  17. GIVI E52 (R301) topcase, SR10 toprack, and E97 Brake light kit. This is the latest addition. This is the newest topcase model in the GIVI line. It has a much improved access latch design (compared to the E460), and 2 full face helmets fit inside. The E97 brake light kit adds brake lights that resemble the PC's (one that is each side of center.) Braking visibilty is greatly improved. The match of the R301 (Candy Red) lid was surprisingly accurate. I am very pleased with this purchase, although the customer service and marketing efforts at GIVI USA need MAJOR improvement. I am very disappointed with their lack of customer service. It took a month to get someone at GIVI USA to care that they had sent me an incomplete E97 kit, and to do something about it. I have already designed a "mat" for the inside of it that is similar to the "trunk mats" listed above. For more info, see my webpage HERE.
